About the Hunt ​

When dry field goose hunting, with a maximum of ten hunters and the guides hunt in either tyvek suits with ghost blinds or in layout blinds sitting in the middle of large numbers of full body, sock, silhouette decoys.  Hunters will meet at a predetermined location close to the hunt, then follow the guide to the parking area to be shuttled out to the blind or field with either ATVs or UTVs. Goose Hunters will be given notice of their time and meeting place (generally the afternoon before the hunt) based on the weather conditions and field scouting.

 

Note: Bird processing is not included with the hunt.

Hunters Checklist:

 

Guided Goose Hunts

  • Shotgun (12 gauge recommended for goose hunts)

  • Steel Shot Shells: 3” – 3-1/2” #(T, BBB, BB, 2’s)

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Chest Waders

  • Camo Hat

  • Bibs or camo overalls

  • Rain Gear/Jacket

  • Comfortable calf boots

  • Tyvek suits will be provided if applicable for the hunt

  • Drinks and snacks for the day

  • Headlight with extra batteries

  • Filled out forms of Release of Liability and Hunt Agreement

  • Current California State Hunting License

    • California duck validation

    • Federal duck stamp

    • HIP validation

Flooded Rice Field 

  • Shotgun (12 or 20 gauge)

  • Steel Shot Shells: 2-¾"-3" (BB,1,2,3,4 shot)

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Chest Waders

  • Camo Hat

  • Rain Gear/Jacket

  • Drinks and snacks for the day

  • Headlight with extra batteries

  • Filled out forms of Release of Liability and Hunt Agreement found on Rates & Booking Page

  • Current California State Hunting License

    • California duck validation

    • Federal duck stamp

    • HIP validation

Ducks

Season: Oct 21-Jan 31

Limits: 7/day, which may include: 7 mallards (no more than 2 females), 1 pintail, 2 canvasback, 2 redheads, 2 scaup. Possession limit triple the daily bag.

Geese 

Early Season: (Large CAGO only) Sep 30 - Oct 2
Regular Season: Oct 21 - Jan 218
Late Season: (Whitefronts and White geese) Feb 17 - Feb 21, Large CAGO (Feb 17-18)

Limits: 30/day, which may include: 20 white geese, 10 dark geese. Possession limit triple the daily bag.
